When applications are accepted, they will be taken online ONLY via the application link, will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and will remain open until the maximum # has been reached for the application period.

If you have already applied online, you must call the IEETC to reschedule your test. You will not be able to fill out the online application!

VETERANS
APPLICATION PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS

The following documents MUST be brought to the training center in person on the scheduled Test date:

IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE INCOMPLETE AND/OR MISSING AT THE TIME OF YOUR SCHEDULED TEST, WILL NOT BE PREMITTED TO TEST AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED.

  • COPY of Birth Certificate showing you are at least 18 years of age
  • COPY of High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Official Sealed Transcripts verifying one of the following have been met:

a)      One Year (Two Semesters) of High School Algebra 1 or higher (excluding Geometry) with a passing grade of ‘C’ or higher OR

b)     Successfully completed the Electrical Training Alliance - Technical Math course

*In the event transcripts do not specifically define Algebra 1 or higher, a letter from the school must be presented verifying that the math course taken is equivalent to Algebra 1 or higher.

**Official Transcripts can be emailed to applicants@ieetc.org

Transcripts cannot be emailed directly from the applicant; they must be emailed directly from the school or a third-party transcript service.  

*** All foreign transcripts must be translated in English to be accepted.

TESTING & ORAL INTERVIEWS
  • Following verification of eligibility and completion of the application, if all requirements have been met. the applicant will be scheduled for the aptitude test. The aptitude test consists of reading comprehension and algebra/trigonometry.
  • Applicants receiving a score of 5 or higher will be scheduled for an oral interview and notified by email of the date and time of their oral interview.
  • If you do not pass the Aptitude Test, you must wait a minimum of 3 months to meet eligibility to re-take the test. You must contact the IEETC to sign-up for the next available re-test session. Re-test candidates will not be guaranteed a re-test date at 3 months, the IEETC reserves the right to determine re-test dates based on the availability and is subject to change. You do not need to re-apply, your application is valid for 2 years.
  • Upon completing the oral interview process, the applicant will be placed on an eligibility list based on your interview score and remain active for (1) years from your interview date. Your placement on the list may vary following each offering of the aptitude test and/or apprentice selections. You are not guaranteed selection into the Apprenticeship Program. You must complete the ENTIRE application/testing process again if you are not selected into the Apprenticeship Program after the (2) year timeframe.
  • All applications are kept on file for (2) years from the original application date. DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN 1 APPLICATION WITHIN THE 2 YEAR TIMEFRAME.
  • The IEETC does not keep copies of original documents submitted.
